The Autry National Center is a multicultural history center formed from the merger of three important museums: the Southwest Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of the American West, and the Women of the West Museum. It includes The Institute for the Study of the American West.

• Developmentally edited Yosemite: Art of an American Icon, an illustration-rich book designed to accompany an art exhibit of the same name (2005).

• Edited Human Body Explorations: Hands-on Investigations of What Makes Us Tick (1999; published 2000).

Social Policy Research Associates (SPR) "is a nationally recognized research, evaluation, and technical assistance firm located in Oakland, California. We specialize in providing rigorous and responsive services related to employment assistance, job training, education, youth programs, and comprehensive social services."

• Edited site profiles for a Website highlighting promising practices in the area of welfare and workforce development partnerships (1998-99).
• Designed and facilitated writing training workshops for SPR staff (1997, 1998).
• Edited a report evaluating the One-Stop Career System (1997).

• Copyedited the January, 2002 issue (Vol 30, no. 1) of the society's journal Fremontia.

Apple "has been in the classroom empowering teachers and students to teach, learn, and collaborate for 30 years. Students now learn anywhere with today's digital tools that accommodate their individual learning styles."

• Wrote software-based curriculum for Apple Learning Series kits: grades 3-6 curriculum (1999-2000), Secondary Math and Science (1999-2000), and Secondary Language Arts and Social Studies (2000-2001).
• Evaluated suitability of software for inclusion in the Apple Learning Series kits (2000).

HP (formerly Hewlett-Packard) "is a technology solutions provider to consumers, businesses and institutions globally. The company's offerings span IT infrastructure, global services, business and home computing, and imaging & printing."

• Revised storyboards and content (prepared poorly by another contractor) for use in creating a Web-based training course on the HP LaserJet 4600 series of printers; reviewed the developed course and ordered changes (Nov 2002-Feb 2003).
• Edited training course materials (Sept. 2004).

• Developmentally editing a manuscript by Dr. Kat Anderson about Native American management of the prairies of the Olympic Peninsula and their plants and animals (2006-8).
• Contracted to write a book about MindTime, a technology that maps people's thinking styles, by John Furey and MindTime, Inc. (2007).
• Developmentally edited and revised a memoir by the late Dr. Kenneth Norris to be published by the California Digital Library project as Mountain Time.
• Developmentally edited a manuscript by Dr. Oscar Lemer about the 19th-century artists and photographers of Yosemite and their relationship to the historical development of California (2006).
• Edited (2005-6) a biography by Michael Vernetti about the late Senator Howard Cannon of Nevada, to be published by the University of Nevada Press.
• Developmentally edited a manuscript by Dr. Kat Anderson to be published by UC Press under the tentative title Keepers of the Oaks (2006).
